Diagnostics
Diagnostic or investigation work is the process taken to locate the fault causing the concern or issue with your car. This may include connecting your car to a diagnostic machine or to software on a computer. There is a common belief that simply replacing components based on a fault code is all that is required. However this is commonly not the case. Each component has a control unit, wiring and a parameter to measure, sense, read, etc. This data could be incorrect, which in turn can be caused by a system that has an affect on the one with the fault code. However, we are happy to offer a 'Plug In' service which will consist of a full vehicle fault memory read, print out of fault codes found and a clear/reset. Our 'Plug In' cost £37.5 plus VAT. A 'Full Diagnostic' will consist confirming the concern, whether that be a warning light, unusual noise, fluid leak or a component not functioning. Then we begin steps to locate this issue which may involve stripping of components to test, visually inspect, take measurements of wiring. etc. We have an extensive database and have the ability to check for know issues with your car. We can also carry out software updates/programming/coding. Our 'Full Diagnostic' service starts from £75 plus VAT. This process may incur more cost but will not proceed without authorisation for you.
